Work a month from Barcelona?! I can tell you: it feels a little like taking a holiday, while you are working your regular hours! Everything is arranged for you by Sweet Spot Abroad: an apartment, a good workplace and all kinds of fun activities are being organised. My great employer Salves has taken care of this for me, but there are also possibilities if your employee does not want to provide this for you.

To me, Sweet Spot is the perfect mix of fun and professionality. I got more out of my time here because I could share my experiences with the Sweet Spot group; The co-work had a relaxed vibe and I was surprised how easy it is to have a good work focus there; and the Leadership training for me opened my eyes how to further develop my skills in that direction

I’m really glad I took this opportunity to work and live in Barcelona. It was a completely distinct experience from working from home or your own familiar office setting. Enjoy exploring a new city, while simultaneously working on your personal development! My main take away from this trip is that working in a completely new environment challenges you and provides you with an energy boost.. I’m eager to try this again in the near future! Who knows what my next stop will be. Cape Town maybe?

Spending time with a group of people with different backgrounds and experiences has allowed me to be more open minded. The group discussions during the training sessions were really valuable, because they provided me with new insights, both professionally and personally. The fact that my employer trusts me to do my job wherever I want, gave me an amazing sense of freedom and confidence. It gave me a boost to do an even better job and be more productive."

For me, this experience came at just the right time. I missed some adventure in my life, there was simply too much routine. In these situations I know from experience that I have to shake things up and get out of my comfort zone. I sincerely feel that I have developed both personally and professionally over the past 2 months. Professionally, the management training helped me to get more insights into my management style and how to adapt to difficult conversations/situations as a manager. And personally I think that I have gained as much valuable insights into myself by reflecting on how you act in a new environment and a new group of people.
